Q&A with Nina Chambers, Learner of the Year 2018

Nina ChambersWith nominations now open and this year's awards not too far away, we reached out to the winner of last year's Learner of the Year award 2018, Nina Chambers, to find out how she has been getting on since winning last year.

Tell us what you have been up to over the last 12 months?

I am extremely proud to say that my job has escalated to a new level for me! In April 2019, I was promoted to Lettings Manager for Abbotts Countrywide in Cromer! I am very proud in myself for reaching this stage at just the age of 19.

"The experience of being at The House of Lords was also unforgettable..."

What did winning the award mean to you?

Winning the award was huge for me, as it is a great achievement to reach after all the learning I did at High School and College. The experience of being at The House of Lords was also unforgettable and seeing my parents proud means a lot as they, as well as my teachers, helped me reach the position I am in today!

How has your day-to-day job changed since the awards last year?

Again, I have continued to learn what my job entails, and becoming a Manager has opened my work life to another great learning and working experience.

Why do you think qualifications are important within the property sector?

Having these qualifications really helps you prepare for the property industry, as you learn relevant information that will aid you in a property related job, where you will probably have more knowledge than most of your other colleagues.

What would you say to anyone thinking about putting themselves forward for an award?

Be confident!

If you think you deserve the award and you're hard-working and meet the criteria then don't let the fact that thousands of people will apply stop you from going for it! You might win! Or get shortlisted which is still a great achievement!

So, what's next for you?

I will be continuing to strive for success as a Lettings Manager where I am in Abbotts Cromer and hopefully in perhaps a couple of years time when I have perfected lettings, I shall move onto sales!
