NFoPP Level 4 Certificate in Sale of Residential Property - England, Wales & Northern Ireland

Getting Started

Step 1 - Read the Examination Regulations located below, under the subheading Useful Documents

Step 2 - Read the Qualification Specification located below, under the subheading Useful Documents

Step 3 - To purchase study materials (these are not mandatory) contact MOL directly (tel: 0345 203 2103)

Step 4 - Work through the study materials or conduct self study using the Qualification Specification.  Please check the examination schedule and plan your study to work with the Examination Schedules provided

Step 5 - Click here to enrol with us to become a candidate. On the enrollment form, you will select the qualification you wish to be registered for and pay the £100 registration fee *

Step 6 - Once payment has been received by us, your registration will be live which means you can begin booking your examinations via your online candidate account or by telephoning Pearson Vue directly (tel: 0161 8557 537).  Please refer to the Examination Schedule located below within Useful Documents for examination dates. 

* If you have already enrolled with us and wish to undertake further qualifications then you will need to log into your existing online candidate account to register for another qualification. 

Please do not enrol again as candidates are only permitted to hold one candidate account with us.

You must show two forms of identification at the test centre in order to be permitted to sit your examinations.  The identification presented MUST match your registered name information on your candidate account.

Introduction

The Propertymark Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Sale of Residential Property qualification is applicable to England and Wales only.

In order to be eligible for this qualification, you must hold the Propertymark Qualifications Level 3 Technical Award in Sale of Residential Property - England, Wales & Northern Ireland.

Propertymark Qualifications will check your eligibility upon registration for this qualification and either send you registration details or advise you of the above necessary requirement in order to become eligible.

The Level 4 Certificate in Sale of Residential Property is certified by Propertymark Qualifications as a fully regulated qualification.

*NB Entry requirements for this qualification require candidates to hold the Level 3 Technical Award in Sale of Residential Property.  

For those candidates who have passed units of the NFoPP Level 5 Diploma in Residential Estate Agency, please contact us to discuss which units of the above qualification you may be exempt before registering for this qualification. 

No fees previously paid for registration on the current Diploma are transferrable to the Certificate qualification.

For all units, the examinations are in set booking windows which means that candidates can only schedule and sit examinations in set periods.  Please refer to the Examination Schedule located above within Useful Documents for full details.

Short essay style examinations are manually marked by an examiner and modified by an experienced and qualified moderator. 


Results & Certification

The results required to pass the units are as follows:

Short Essay style examinations - 45% minimum to achieve a Pass grade

0% - 44% Fail Unsatisfactory answer, but does show some grasp of some of the issues and necessary knowledge.  Answers may suggest only basic or limited study undertaken. Answers contain wrong information, little evidence of study and no evidence of background reading or research.  Answers offer no argument or conclusion.

45% - 74% Pass Answers will demonstrate a reasonable level of understanding and meet the examiner's basic requirements; some evidence of knowledge of issues raised by the question; limited dditional reading/research and background knowledge shown.   Restricted use of sources and cases;contains some errors of fact.

75%+ Distinction Reserved for answers of distinguished quality showing extensive background reading/research and knowledge and excellent understanding of issues and concepts raised in the
question.  Free from factual errors, contains no irrelevant material.  Arguments supported by good reasoning and knowledge.  Answers should be well-organised, fluent and with supported conclusions.

Multiple Choice style examinations - 72% minimum to achieve a Pass grade

0% - 68% Fail Less than 18 answered correctly

72% - 84% (18-21) Pass 18 minimum answered correctly

88%+ (22-25) Distinction 22 or over answered correctly

The successful achievement of all units will result in either a final certificate showing a Pass or Distinction Grade; in order to obtain an overall grade of Distinction you need to achieve 4 out the 6 units with individual marks Distinction grade or higher and obtained during the first sitting.  Exemptions and 2nd/3rd attempts will only result in a final overall grade of Pass.

For the units assessed by multiple choice examinations, you will be notified of your provisional results at the test centre immediately after finishing your exams.  

A formal results letter from ourselves will be posted to your registered postal address confirming your results. These results letters are typically posted out the Monday after you have sat your examination(s). 

For the units assessed by short essay style examinations, you will be notified of your results by a formal results letter posted from ourselves to your registered postal address, 7 working weeks after sitting the examination.


How long will the Qualification take?

Candidates have 3 years from their date of registration to achieve all required units to complete their qualification. If candidates fail to pass all units within this 3 year timescale, they will be required to re-register.

Candidates will be able to carry over results of any previously achieved units which are still available for assessment at the time of re-registration. 

As a candidate, you are responsible for taking ownership of your learning and you will need to be aware of your expiry date and manage your own time to complete the qualification within the given time frame.  No extensions will be granted for people who state that work commitments did not allow for completion of the qualification within the timeframe.

Registration and Examination Costs

£100 registration fee payable to Propertymark Qualifications by credit/debit card only and when examination ready

All examination fees are paid to Pearson Vue and cannot be taken by Propertymark Qualifications.

Retakes will incur the same costs and these prices apply to all candidates.  

To take advantage of the discounted prices, you will need to use the above PROMOTIONAL CODE  via your online candidate account.  Alternatively, you can telephone Pearson Vue (tel: 0161 8557 537) and they will automatically apply the discount. 


Booking, rescheduling or cancelling examinations:

You can do so via your online candidate account or by telephoning our examination supplier, Pearson Vue directly (tel: 0161 8557 537).  Propertymark Qualifications cannot book, amend or cancel examinations.

Pearson Vue has approximately 150 participating test centres throughout the UK which are available for examinations on demand during working hours. 

Cancellation Policy:

There is a 72 hour cancellation policy in place by ourselves and Pearson Vue.

If you need to reschedule or cancel an examination, you will need to provide 72 hours notice prior to the examination.  If you are within the 72 hour cancellation period, you will not receive a refund and this information is stipulated in booking confirmation emails.

Re-sitting examinations: 

You can attempt an examination as many times as necessary until the unit has been passed.
Retakes can be booked via your online candidate account or by telephoning Pearson Vue directly (tel: 0161 8557 537) the following day however, you will not be able to physically resit the failed examination until at least 10 days have passed due to a 10 day study period and when the next window for bookings for that unit becomes available. 


Distance Learning Study Materials

You can study towards the qualification in the comfort of your home or office, using open learning materials, or by supported distance learning facilitated by our preferred supplier MOL. This means that you can take advantage of flexible learning which can fit into your lifestyle.

£499 - For Members of any Membership division falling within the Propertymark umbrella Membership Associations

£599 - For Non-Members of any Membership division falling within the Propertymark umbrella Membership Associations
